
Soon after, he formed a vocal group, the Wonder 3, with two junior high boys. Eventually, a music teacher from Charles Drew Elementary, a nearby magnet school with a special performing arts program, heard of Sammie's vocal gifts and he transferred there at the start of third grade. Fittingly, Sammie's first singing triumph also occurred at church at age four, he received a standing ovation for his performance of "Troubles Don't Last Always." Music was never far from Sammie's mind, even at school teachers would catch him singing under his breath during classes, but encouraged his talent. His mother, a former professional singer, sang in the church choir while she was carrying him. The singles had a generous amount of radio/video play and the former quickly topped the Billboard Singles Charts. At the age of 13, the album was released and included the singles "I Like It" (1999) and "Crazy Things I Do". He released a debut album in 2000 titled "From the Bottom To the Top" which was originally through Austin's Freeworld Entertainment label.

He is currently finishing recording his third album, Coming of Age, which will be released sometime in 2011.


After taking a hiatus from the music industry to focus on school, he returned in 2006 with his self-titled second studio album.

He is best known for his hit single, I Like It, from his debut album From the Bottom to the Top, which was released in 2000. Sammie Bush (born on Main Boynton Beach, Florida) is an American R&B singer and actor signed to Interscope Records.
